Dalam Kongres Mobile Dunia di Barcelona, produsen ponsel Sony Ericsson mengumumkan beberapa ponsel pintar baru dalam rangka menguatkan kehadirannya dalam segmen pasar high-end yang menguntungkan.Perusahaan yang merupakan gabungan antara L.M. Ericsson Telephone Co (ERIC) Swedia dan Sony Corp (SNE) Jepang mengatakan akan meluncurkan ponsel pintar Xperia X10 Mini dan Xperia X10 Mini Pro pada kuartal kedua.
Versi tersebut adalah pelengkap dari jajaran produk ponsel Xperia X10 yang diumumkan pada akhir tahun 2009 dan pada awalnya dikatakan akan diluncurkan pada kuartal pertama 2010
